Right Wing Self-Destruction

The Republican right destroyed itself in the special election. Certainly, Roach might overtake Bilbray, but the far right of the Republican Party has already generated 21,399 votes with more to count. Compare this to the Bilbray's total and it is easy to conclude that had Morrow or Kaloogian pulled out of the race, Roach would most likely be Busby's main contender come June.

Both Morrow and Kaloogian have done serious damage to themselves as viable Republican candidates for national office. Kaloogian's message of fighting the "good war" in Iraq has not resonated in the 50th District.
