Aside from evidence of good taste, the Vet also has a solid post that picks up on a Survey USA summary of approval ratings for all 50 US governors.

At the Vet notes, Ohio Governor Bob Taft has pretty much lapped the field when it comes to a negative rating. Taft weights in with a 17% approval rating. Don't they have a recall process in Ohio? The guy who won the California recall lottery, Arnold Schwarznegger, has a 36% approval rating which ranks him #46 on the list.
